Google Ads Coming To A Television Near You On NBC!
There is no stopping Google is there?. We know Google Ads dominate the World Wide Web already and in 2007 Google originally entered the television ad business when it partnered with EchoStar. Google sold commercials over the Dish satellite networks. Companies were able to show their commercials on the specific time of day, place and channel. Now Google is taking the television advertising up another notch by partnering with NBC Universal. That is right - a BIG network!
NBC will have the opportunity to convert Google AdWords advertisers into television advertisers. Advertisers now will be able to expand their market share. The partnership will focus on Sci Fi, Oxygen, MSNBS, CNBC, Sleuth and Chiller. Working together the two companies will have a strong advertising metric where there will be more self-service buying opportunities through the Google TV ads advertising platform. The advertisers will also have access to viewership data allowing advertisers to understand what consumers like and adjust their ad campaigns to maximize on their profits.
Now I don’t know about you but the idea of advertising on television has always seemed to me like a daunting and large task. With this news advertising, it is now going to be easier, less expensive and more accessible for any type of business. This is a win for advertisers and potentially a revolutionary way for television networks like NBC to bring in a new market of advertisers.
It seems Google really is taking over. But I think that anything that makes communication and information more accessible is a good thing. Thoughts?

Well, Google’s partnership with a big network like NBC was always going to happen. It was just a question of when and not if. There is a lot to be gained for everybody involved in the equation. For Google, it’s presence will be more prominent in the TV ad industry, for advertisers there will be a wider audience and a bigger market share and NBC is sure to reap the cash-rich rewards. Google did a smart thing testing this out first with a smaller network. The benefit for NBC is advertisers waiting at their front door. This means more demand and less supply!

Done Google!!! Google is opening doors for every possibility for advertisers. By doing this step, Google is connecting a better opportunity for its advertisers to be showcased thru NBC. Better visibility, wider audience = greater ROI to companies.

With this new reach Google has turned into a model for selling its advertising. Advertisers will get a greater facility to customize their advertising plans, and can choose media outlets on the basis of more exact information, which indicates better the consumer’s readiness to accept that ad message.

Google’s another effort in its search to offer one - stop shopping to advertisers. This new advertising reach assures a new revenue stream for both sides. Is this a way for small screen to recapture its lost ad revenue in the surge online media market?
