Using Google Analytics and Adwords to Get The Big Picture
As a website analyst I prepare web site analytics reports every month for my clients. One of the biggest advantages of using Google Analytics over any of the other web site analytics program is the relationship that Analytics and Adwords have. With that in mind there are a few characteristics about this relationship that I have noticed.
Preparing Web Analytics Consultancy Reports
Currently Google Analytics is the most comprehensive program of its kind for Adwords users. My clients love its graphic appeal, allowing for a web analytics simplified view that makes it really easy to discuss and explain actionable measures a website analyst wants to take. Most of our clientele use both Analytics and Adwords and this is where these two brother and sister programs really shine.

Initiation into the Intent of Web Analytics
The first thing that comes to one’s mind after creating a website is the number of visitors that it can generate. More important is the fact that these visitors become customers or lead subscribers. The goal should be in understanding the behavior of website customers. Our viewpoint should be in creating a lucrative occurrence on the web, and finding out how to convert these visitors into loyal customers. Web Analytics is the study of data on web traffic that is collected, and aspects of the website that work towards generating more business, which are planned and implemented.
What is Web Analytics?
Web Analytics programs and Web stats are premeditated to recognize the behavior of your website visitors, and convert them into genuine customers. These programs help gather valuable information to perk up your website’s success on the Internet. An example would be which landing pages in a website that hold the customers’ attention and entice them to make a purchase, subscribe or complete a lead form. Typically the data collected includes:

Filters and Profiles in Google Analytics
After finishing an awesome Google Analytics course I feel refreshed, energized and have a whole new outlook on the way a website owner deals with visitors. Unfortunately not many webmasters are taking advantage of the tools offered to get well acquainted with your visitors. For the elite few that are taking full advantage of Web Analytics you have my thumbs up. As far as I am concerned Analytics are the most important part of relationship building and learning more about the people that come to your site.
I have admittedly been using Analytics for about 6 months now but NOT been utilizing the data effectively. Now I have the ability to take action based on a clear understanding of what my visitors are doing and want from my website.

2 Main Things to Discuss in the Month’s Issue
It appears that Facebook has proven what I have been telling anyone that listens. Facebook continues to dazzle and impress with its new pay per click system. Showing us high click thru rates and lower cost per click then more traditional advertising (such as Google Adwords, Yahoo! Search and MSN adCenter), I am continuing to encourage any business that is offering services ‘business to consumer’. With Facebook, you can target your advertisement by geographic region, gender, age, interests (heck you can even target to people that are listed as single or married!) Take advantage of it now because as more businesses get involved the cost per click will rise.
Secondly, the TechWyse Analytics service, we call ‘WyseLabs’, continues to impress our clients. If you find you are one of those people that looks at your stats each month, nods your head and then doesn’t know what to do about it, this service is likely something you would be interested in.

How Important is Setting Goal Value in Google Analytics?
Are you a sport fan? Do you play sports of any kind? Can you imagine if there were no nets in hockey or soccer. How about playing a game of basketball with no nets or baseball with no home run distance? I hope you are beginning to see my point with website analytics. Let me answer this question with a question… “What are your earnings in your day job or business after expenses?” I mean after all is said and done how much did you profit? What was your ROI (return on investment). By taking the time figuring out the goal value in Google Analytics the most important question is answered; ROI.
What is a Website Goal?
It is a specific end action that we want a user to complete. This often includes acquiring an email address and name. A thank you page is a good example of a simple website goal. Is your website a Lead generation site? You may have a form or white paper that you follow up by phone. When that lead comes in and is actionable, hooray you scored a goal! You have also scored a goal by selling products. But are you logging these amazing accomplishments on the scoreboard? Read the rest of this entry »

Designing a Website
Websites should be interactive and communicative. A web site design should be designed and crafted so that all categories of users - both surfers who are adept at searching websites, and those who are not Internet savvy can conveniently access them.
Design simple sites, which are easy to use and navigate. One of the most important factors in website design is making your website searchable for people and search engines. It is best to to make sure that your URL is search engine friendly before designing a website, so that no one will miss your URL in result pages (SERPS). Some visitors type your URL into search engines.
Try to make every search engine recognize your URL. When surfers type in keywords of your website, only those pages that have relevant description called the title tag are displayed, usually. There are also other "On and Off page" factors that will affect your ability to rank. Choose appropriate title tags; since these help search engines give proper depiction of your field. These relevant keywords that you are aiming at should be there in your title tag. Then visitors can reach your website easily with keywords that truly describe your site.
Your web pages should ideally work on any browser, preferably on current and earlier versions of both Netscape Navigator and Internet Explore and on both Windows and Macintosh Platforms. Design your web pages so that it does not require Java, Javascript, Flash, etc. that may not have been installed in all systems. If you are going to include any or all of these check your analytics data so you can see what your visitors are currently equipt with. Here are a few important analytical areas to look at when designing a website. All of these images are from the Google analytics interface.

Become an Internet Marketing Winner with a Matrix Mindset
A Quote From The Matrix (Movie)
Neo: What is the Matrix?
Trinity: The answer is out there, Neo, and it’s looking for you, and it will find you if you want it to.
There is a fundamental shift today going on in the way organizations communicate with their customers, a shift towards interactive dialogue. Traditional vehicles such as television, print and poster ads now push customers to a website where they can be fully engaged online.
If we reminisce into the past to “Nostradamus matrix common mind” we all wonder how this philosopher seemed to be able to figure out future events. Is there a way or a certain logic that allows for this type of insight into the future?
To target your message online, marketers must understand your customers and their motives in a detailed way. Online customers are in control and they can easily click out of your web site at any time. Keeping them engaged becomes a central goal and requires us to have a Matrix Mind set. The answer is really out there! Will you let it find you?
With new media growing at 30 % annually, building engaging web sites becomes a top priority.

Common Website Mistakes While Designing
Go ahead and build a navigable site, but do not increase the file size in doing so. The most popular and important pages should be fast and easy for the visitor to access. Having direct links to all your sub-pages from the main or Home page reduces the amount of clicking required to access pages. Ensure that every page has links back to your Home page. Visitors may be irritated if unwanted animations are placed on the page. Ensure you’re your pages are clutter-free. These are primary examples of website mistakes made by the majority of webmasters at one time or another.
Physically challenged visitors should also be able to utilize your web site. Visually challenged visitors should be provided with speech synthesizers and font sizes and colors as well as making sure that all images are alt (alternate text) tagged. Speech synthesizers can’t read images - they read only text. Only if the ALT tag code is included can they read text displayed as images.
